Soccer Checklist

“Are you sure you packed everything?”

“Yes.”

“Are you sure? Did you double check?”

“I already told you YES.”

“OK.  Lets go.”

This is the conversation that usually occurs in our driveway prior to leaving for a game or practice.  Only to be followed by me heading to a sporting good store to find shin guards, an undershirt, or asking other parents if they have any extra jerseys.  Sometimes it is my kids’ fault for not thoroughly checking their bag, and sometimes it’s mine (oh shoot, I forgot to pack sunscreen).   So, for those parents in need, here is a checklist to prepare for this soccer season.

Apparel

  • Jersey (Both Home and Away)
  • Shorts (Both Home and Away)
  • Socks (Both Home and Away)
  • Warm Up Gear (Sweatpants, Sweatshirt)
  • Extra clothes (Shirt, Shorts, Socks)
  • Long Sleeve Undershirt
  • Warm Headband or Beanie
  • Cold Weather Gloves
  • Rain Gear
  • Goalie Gear (Gloves, Shirt, Shorts)

Equipment

  • Soccer Bag
  • Soccer Cleats
  • Shin Guards
  • Slides, Flip Flops, or Crocs
  • Water Bottle
  • Soccer Ball

Other

  • Bug Spray
  • Sun Block
  • Hair Accessories (Hair Ties)
  • Small Ball Pump
  • Bag for Dirty Clothes
  • Garbage Bag to Cover Bag if Raining
  • Towell
  • Bandages
  • Small Bag for Extra Jewelry
  • Emergency Cash

Some of these things you may need only once during the season, but you will be glad that you brought them with you when they are needed.  Although I am sure that I am missing something, this list should give your child a good start and everything they to have fun playing soccer.
